Adopt-a-Physicist connects high school students with physics graduates via online message boards. In this supervised forum students and physicists can talk freely about careers, school, work, and family balance. Learn more.

For the 2025-2026 school year, we are currently planning on holding a Spring session. The following dates are tentative, and may change. We hope to finalize the dates soon.

Spring 2026 Tentative Schedule

• Teacher Registration: December 1 - January 5 (or until full)
• Physicist Registration: January 6 - January 19 (or until full)
• Teachers adopt physicists: January 20 - January 30
• Discussion forums open: February 3 - February 20

The Adopt-a-Physicist program is led by Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honor society, with aid from the American Association of Physics Teachers. Technical support is provided by the ComPADRE Digital Library.
